Recess week...not! ♥

Yes, I know I haven't been updating my blog for a long, long time. No excuses, I'm just being a lazy bum. Ladeedum. The past couple of weeks had been quite eventful...

First was Joan's farewell dinner. We had dinner at MOF and the combination of people that came was, well, quite weird. Hahaha. There was Maggie and I, then Joan, Emily, Samantha, Denise and ChewPing, then Niko, HQ, Dean and Jeff. Yirui and Ise came later after dinner for a short while too. It had been quite fun catching up with each other and food was yummy too. I love their sushi. Interesting, yummy ones you can't find elsewhere. Niko the pig ate an entire plate of sushi himself plus his own bento, while Maggie, me, Dean and Jeff shared another plate. We also shared dessert! Yumyum. After dinner was abit of camwhoring and then we headed home.

My Tantan ramen. Yum!

Karage sushi. An all-time fav!

Dessert was good. Green tea ice cream with bits of red bean in it. With cornflakes, jelly in some sweet thingy, fruits and wafer, topped with vanilla cream stuff.

Erm...what's with Niko's face?

Maggie and mee!

Bon voyage, Joan! May everything go well with you and your studies. Be a successful lawyer and gimme a discount in future ok? I have loads of people I wanna sue.

Next was Jefferson's birthday! Maggie and I shopped the entire day for his pressies...racked our brains for them. He better be touched! Bought him a cap which we tried non-stop to make sure we chose the nicest one. Hahah. Got him a blingbling bracelet, a cake and this cute pigu notebook cum card since he's my pigu. Wahahaha! Ate dinner at the steamboat place again! No thanks to Maggie. Le sigh. After a very filling dinner, Maggie, JY, Pigu, QQ and I went over to KFC and sat there to chat till we had to leave for our last train. So nice to just sit and chat randomly...I wish we can do this often...

We did our own shopping too! Ugly colourful dress which I won't be caught dead wearing. Turns out....quite interesting. Hahah. For a retro themed party I guess.

Wore the scarf/belt as a tie. Lol!

Ze birthday pigu!

Upon reaching home, JY smsed me to go online and we ended up chatting over a video call and played around with our webcams and soft toys till 4am!! Tired~

Zzz...my laptop batt is dying. Shall update the rest in future.

Kenneth and Mae Shaan's wedding! ♥

Met up with Maggie on Friday after tuition for lunch. Jy overslept! That piggy. Anyways, she missed out on good food. We went to try out the food at Kartini Indonesian Restaurant. The food was not bad but a little pricey and it wasn't as spicy as I thought it would have been. After that was shopping again, which I obviously didn't get anything again. Hahahah! Wasted our whole afternoon walking around and doing nothing. Ended the day with our Scoopz ice cream (Rum&Raisin, and Green Tea. Yum!) and headed home.

Who needs weight gainers when you can have ice cream? Ironically, I don't want to gain weight...(Zzz. Unglam pic.)

Saturday was my cousin Mae Shaan and Kenneth's wedding at Shangri-La Hotel. First of all, I wanna say a big congratulations to the newly-wedded couple. You two are so made for each other and I hope there'll be new additions to the family soon. 5 babies aren't enough for the 50 people in our family to play with and fuss over. More nephews/nieces please. Lol!

All ready for the wedding dinner!

Their wedding had been a total fantasy and a perfect affair which I know they'll both remember and reminisce about for many years to come. The groom is really humourous and charismatic and the bride is simply gorgeous. The hotel supervisor was thoughtful and the poor waitresses who were unfortunate enough to serve our table had great service. I loved the live jazz band and the idea of a dancefloor, food was good, which is fortunate JH didn't come along coz half of the 7 or 8 course meal was seafood....everything was just perfect (except that the dessert was too sweet).

The beautiful function room where we had our cocktails before dinner. I love the chandelier.

Nachos, assorted nuts, coke and roses!

I loved the exquisite doorgifts too. It was either a glass coaster which you can put your photo in, or a heart-shaped tea infuser where you can put your tea leaves into the little heart locket and stir it into a mug of hot water. The plates were very pretty too (except we can't exactly eat on them) and I love the hotel toilets. The photo montage of the couple and how they met at law school was so cute, their video of the church wedding was so sweet and artistically done, and the surprise song done by the groom with his best man's guitar accompaniment was heartwarming (and it's a good thing he can sing too).

The exquisite doorgifts..

Daddy's girl!

Me and the world's greatest mum

World's most annoying sister but I love her all the same =))

Their individual speeches were also rather entertaining. Hahaha. Kenneth kept insulting his new wife...he thanked Uncle Thomas and Auntie Angie for willingly giving up their daughter that morning (a little too willingly) and thanked Mae Yan for helping to pack Mae Shaan jie's stuff from her home to his home (and seemed a little too happy to do so), and then he thanked his ex-gf (the most recent one that is. Lol! That part kinda caught us off-guard) for being so kind, generous etc (and he said how he would go on but he couldn't read her handwriting. Lol!). Despite him cracking all these jokes, he still said this line which is all that matters, and that is "Marry not someone who you can live with, but someone whom you cannot live without."

And that just convinced all 750 of us of his love for her.

The underaged drinkers. I think those 2 had more wine than any of us legal drinkers at the table. Tsktsk.

I looooove the toilet doors...but I couldn't get a snapshot of it coz the cleaner auntie was around

I know she loves the toilet too, despite her saying my love for it is crazed.

Anyway, yesterday's dinner made me realise how mature everyone has become and that our family is indeed extremely big. We saw this actress who is quite old and usually performs at getais apparently and it turns out that she is Uncle Thomas' niece! Zomg! She's around my mum's age and yet, in the same generation as us. Ohmytian!

The black tights gang!

While all the kids have matured, my grandfather has certainly aged. Alot. I think he looked very shuai yesterday but it pains us to see that he can't even recognise us now. Dementia has made us feel so distant from him since he's living in the past. I'm still the same HuiZi but his impression is the one in Primary School, or Kindergarten. I remembered how he used to be very proud of me and my sister and how he always slips a couple of 10 dollar bills into our report cards whenever we show him our results. I remembered how my mum always say that we're the only grandchildren (out of like, 24) that he has ever carried. I remembered how my family had to endure having fishballs for dinner every night for consecutive weeks because I loved them and my grandfather would get them for me. I love him and I want him back in his healthy state, playing mahjong with my mum and the other aunties again...

Sunday was playing pool with JH again! Score was 6-2. Well, sorta. To be honest, it was actually 7-1 since during the last game, my cue ball sorta rolled in when I pocketed the 8 ball. But anyways, I came really close to winning several times! And then my aiming sucks after a while. Sigh. After some walking around and restocking up of his junk food (I think he's preparing rations for war), we headed back to my place. Slacked around for awhile and played abit more online pool and went out for dinner with my mum and sis. As usual, mummy ordered ALOT of food and I just shoved everything to JH to finish. Lol! The day ends which spells "sianness" for me since tomorrow is a Monday and I have to go back to school....

Ze proster...

Bad JH doesn't eat his peas. Tsktsk.

J'ai le cafard! ♥

J'ai le cafard! A new term I learnt in French class today. It means I've got the blues....except that cafard means cockroach?! Hahahah. I have no idea why. Maybe the French feels depressed when they see roaches around?

French is really confusing me. Numbers alone are killing me. It's kinda like Math where 70 is 60+10 and 80 is 4x20, and 90 is 4x20+10?! Learning all the grammar stuff is driving me crazy. All the "un, une, des, d', le, la, les, l', de la, du, au, aux" and whatnot which mean basically the same thing but used in different context. Zomg!

Also, my other modules are stressing me out. True, SEA and English has got really really entertaining lectures and the lecturers are funny, Psch and Socio are interesting modules (we had to ask each other pervvy questions during tutorial today 0_o) but...not for an exam! Lack of proper lecture notes and only thick textbooks and course packs of articles to read...guess how much I've done? Yep. Zero. Nada. Zilch. 零. In French, zéro. I've really, really got to get started but I just can't psycho myself enough to do it. I'm done with watching my 50-episodes of Legend of the Condor Heroes 08 and I've got no more excuses to procrastinate. Le sigh.

Also, I absolutely detest people who just keeps going "excuse me. excuse me. tsk!" to you when you want to give way to them but you are waiting for another bunch of people to pass first. Like hello! There are other people who are alighting you know? Can't you like see for yourself? I'm sorry the bloody train/bus is so bloody crowded and I'm sorry I'm made of solid and can't be compressed, and I'm sorry I can't do a Nightcrawler and teleport myself to another empty spot. But can't you just wait for a couple of secs while others pass? Not push me and make the entire stream of people stop and wait for you to alight first, and then turn around and glare at me?! Stupid bitch female member of the dog family.

Talking about dogs, there was this extremely cute Papillion puppy at Trevor's block today. I was looking at it as I walked towards the block coz it was sooo cute then it stared back at me and started wagging its tail. When I was nearer, it walked to me and sniffed at my feet. So I started stroking it although the owner was sitting there, watching =X

Past week had happy moments too! Monday was my weekly meeting with Maggie during our dreadful 3 hours break (and mine, 6). This time, Maggie didn't have classes but still came to accompany me. Merci, dearest! Hahahah. Happy now? We went to City Hall and had Kenny Roger's! Yum! Haven't had our favourite quarter chicken and corn muffin for a loooong time. Then during conversation, I asked if she has had anything else from there other than the quarter chicken and then she says "half chicken". Wow. Sounds so much yummier than my quarter chicken...Then we met up with Jiaying and she said she felt like having Kenny Roger's. Ooops! What coincidence. Hahaha.

Chicken, corn muffin, corn nibblets (hahaha. JH will puke), potato salad, italian green beans thingamajig, macaroni and cheese and a glass of grape soda. Big feast!

Maggie at Pizza Hut with her spaghetti and spicy chicken drumlets!

Mushroom soup!

Then we went shopping for awhile and all we got was Maggie's "that thing". Zomg! You flashed me and the poor salesgirl! Sigh. Each time we have loads of time for shopping, we'll end up with nothing. When we didn't intentionally wanna do any shopping, we'll end up buying alot. Why??

I haven't been getting any mails from SIS...what about you, Maggie? I think we really can't go for the Avril Lavigne concert already...it's this Sunday! What a pity, since it'll be such a nice concert to be at. And zomg! Andy Lau is coming this Dec! I can already imagine Maggie serenading me with the oldies...

Wednesday was steamboat with Maggie and JY at Bugis, another of our regular hangouts. Lol! The uncle was saying how he hasn't seen us for a long time.... Found out some really shocking news which really shocked me. (I've got limited vocab.) All I can say is, I hope everything will turn out well, whatever that comes in future...to each his own anyway. Nonetheless, dinner that day was wonderful. Good food, great company, and loads of laughter and talk. We laughed so hard that Maggie said her baby was going to come out... Tsktsk. Jy and Maggie bullied me into peeling all their prawns again =(( I demand for tips in future. After our extremely long and noisy dinner, the 2 naughty ah-lians still didn't wanna go home so we ended up at KFC drinking hot milo and chatting even more, till it was time for my last train. I can't wait for JY's exams to be over and for us to meet up more often like that. Then again, we're going for lunch tomorrow. Lol!

This is like barely one-tenth of what we ate. Such piggies. -shakes head sadly-

Pretty cups from KFC!

And to end my entry, here is a video I watched during my French class. Double Je/Jeu by Christophe Willem. Rather disturbing video but his voice is like...oh.my.tian. When he opened his mouth to sing, I thought he was just mouthing the words to the song by another singer. Nevertheless, c'est une bonne chanson. This is a really good song, and he has a really interesting voice. Enjoy!

P.S The Muttons are like so super funny. Pardon me for the randomness. I'm listening to their show now.
